The company, which also launched the artificial intelligence era with this series, is preparing to make significant upgrades in the next generation processors. What does the Intel Core Ultra 200 series promise?
According to new leaks, the hardware giant is preparing for a major change in the desktop processor family with the Core Ultra 200 series, codenamed Arrow Lake-S. In this context, the company is expected to adopt a naming scheme similar to mobile processors. There will be several tiers addressing different user needs.
At the top of the Core Ultra 200 series is expected to be the Core Ultra 9 285K model. The mid-range Core Ultra 7 265K and the entry-level Core Ultra 5 245K will be among the standout models of the series. The absence of Core Ultra 9 290K as a possible flagship model drew attention.
Intel is also expected to unveil overclocking-oriented “KS” variants. The Core Ultra 200 series is rumored to be compatible with the LGA-1851 socket for 800 series chipsets and motherboards.
The series will appeal to budget-friendly models with Core Ultra 5 245K; Core Ultra 9 285K will promise maximum performance. The mid-range Core Ultra 7 265K will offer significant gains in terms of both performance and efficiency.
Intel is expected to focus on artificial intelligence features in its next generation processors. Early indications are that the Core Ultra 200 series will bring Intel’s biggest desktop leap in years.
